Vet chroma™ feline Serum Amyloid A(SAA) is a Fluorescence
Immunoassay(FIA) for the quantitative determination of Serum Amyloid A(SAA) in
feline serum/ plasma(EDTA, Heparin). SAA is secreted by cytokine that released from
macrophages or white blood cells in response to inflammatory responses. It is major
acute phase protein and produced predominantly from liver. When infection
inflammation reaction or infection occurs, the blood level of SAA is rapidly increased.
Therefore, The SAA level in blood is used as an indicator of inflammation.
